Ioana Ologeanu
Psychotherapist
Hello,
I'm Ioana - wife, mother and psychotherapist.
Beyond these roles (and many more), I want you to know that I have always been fascinated by people and their life stories.
Part of my story is woven from my earliest memories of my grandmother. I sat in her kitchen and listened to a series of captivating stories, combined with much suffering. I didn't know back then that those stories were part of my life story. I didn't know then that it wasn't the right time for me to hear them. But I thought my grandmother needed me to listen to her... and I did. I learned from an early age to observe the needs around me and to meet them. I was a good, obedient child, loved by everyone. But many times I perceived this role as a burden and inside me there were many struggles that I was carrying alone.
I'd love to hear part of your story. What are your first memories?
I have learned and still continue to learn to allow myself to be fully known and loved as I am in my relationships in my family, with close friends, my extended community, my therapy and personal development sessions and my personal relationship with God. These are my anchors.
What are your anchors? To whom / what do you direct your pain when it is difficult to carry? How about your joy? With whom do you share it? When you were a child, in whose arms did you run away when you felt great emotions in your heart?

Nowadays, I continue to be fascinated by people and their stories, but I am convinced that I'm doing better, to be present here and now, in the space that is being created between us. There is room in this space for your doubts, your fears, your questions, your dreams, your hopes, and your pain. I am confident there is HOPE for each of us no matter how great the pain we are currently experiencing.
Therapy is a vocation for me, a call from my heart to make a difference my generation. Over the years I have had the opportunity to train professionally in this direction. My journey began as a social worker, training that brought me closer to the suffering of people, working with families from disadvantaged backgrounds, with families who lost their loved ones in the fight against cancer, mothers in maternity centers, etc. I worked with young people and teenagers, leading support groups and personal development. My path continued in the corporate environment, providing support to people in organisations. I acquired coaching tools both in Romania and in Oxford, UK. My basic training in psychotherapy is in systemic family and couples' therapy, which I combine with other trainings.

My favorite mornings are when I enjoy a cup of coffee prepared by my husband, connecting with him while our kids run and laugh around us. My favorite mornings are spent walking in the woods near our house, my body moving and smelling the sounds around me. My favorite mornings are when I drive to the office, listening to my favorite podcast, thinking how privileged I am to work with the delicate and beautiful people.
What does your favorite morning look like? Because therapy is not just about the hard things in our lives, it is also about looking at our heart's desires, the good and the beautiful. I invite you to do it together.
